MRT stands for Mediator Release Test. It is a specific type of bloodwork that tests for food sensitivities to 170 different foods and chemicals. LEAP stands for Lifestyle Eating and Performance. This is where we use the information from the MRT to build an individualized diet plan to help decrease inflammation that is causing adverse symptoms. I am a Registered Dietitian with a passion to make healthy eating tasty, easy, and accessible for men and women. Is a Registered Dietitian the same as a Certified Nutritionist? No! Read more here. Many times, all we need to achieve our goals is someone who believes in us and will encourage us when difficult.
Before we get started, let's talk for 10-15 minutes. Over the past 7 years, I have developed a customized nutrition assessment and long-term health plan to ensure you achieve your goals. However, there's no reason for us to partner unless your goals and my process line up. Our initial conversation is to briefly discuss your goals and how our process works. Please fill out the forms below and we'll contact you to confirm our discussion.
My passion to help others achieve their health goals led to the creation of this business. I have always had an interest in nutrition and how it affects health and overall quality of life. The overabundance of fad diets and diet products on the market today prove that nutrition plays a huge role in many people's lives. I believe having a healthy lifestyle goes beyond education. Food and health play an emotional role in people's lives just as much. Coaching people on how to have a healthy relationship with food and how to prioritize nutrition and exercise realistically in busy lifestyles is my goal. I completed my undergrad in nutrition/dietetics from Samford University in Birmingham, AL and completed my Master's degree and dietetic internship in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Memphis. I spent 4 years in clinical rotations and as a bariatric (weight loss surgery) dietitian as well as 10 years as an adjunct professor teaching college level Nutrition classes. I have additional training in adult weight management.
I have completed training in food sensitivities and am a Certified L:EAP Therapist. LEAP stands for Lifestyle Eating and Performance. This as a specialized nutrition program that aims to reduce or eliminate symptoms related to you body’s immune response that may be triggered by food sensitivities. It identifies foods and chemicals that may be contributing to you body’s inflammatory process leading to symptoms related to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Migraines, Fibromyalgia, joint and muscle pain, chronic fatigue, chronic skin irritations, among others. When people have tried several different medications or treatments for these conditions will little or no success, the MRT (mediator release test) and LEAP therapy may be the missing link to what they need to do to improve their health.
My husband and I live outside of Seattle, WA and have 5 kids ages 10-4 through birth, adoption, and foster care. I understand what it is like to try to manage a healthy lifestyle in the midst of chaos! I have always prioritized exercise and run marathons whenever I can squeeze in the extra training and am now learning the extremely fun game of roller derby in my spare time. I fully believe in balance and to set realistic goals. Expecting yourself to follow a perfect meal and exercise plan 100% of the time is setting yourself up for failure. I will work with you to set up health goals that will work with your current lifestyle.
